"The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust in February 2006 awarded me its Travelling Fellowship in order to undertake a 2-month long study tour on deaf museums and archival centres in Europe, the USA and Canada starting from 3rd September until 5th November 2006.
The main objective of my study tour was to examine how deaf museums and archival centres are operated and funded with a view of me submitting a detailed report to the British Deaf History Society. (..) The other objective of my Churchill Fellowship was to establish a network of curators of deaf museums and archival centres in order to develop their services further, drawing from the experiences of each other.
