Donate button
Facebook has a "donate" button for people to donate to a Charity without leaving Facebook.
Organizations can add the donate button to a Page, posts and live video, making it easy for supporters to contribute in a few taps. Donors can now choose to give a one-off or monthly recurring gift.
You can create 2 types of fundraisers on Facebook:
- Personal fundraisers: Fundraisers that raise money for a personal cause, like yourself, a friend or to raise money to work on a cause that's important to you.
Money raised during personal fundraisers is paid out to the person who created the fundraiser and may have tax implications. If you've created a personal fundraiser, you'll need to add your bank account to receive the money raised.Note that personal fundraisers have assessed payment processing fees, which vary by country or region.
- Nonprofit fundraisers: Fundraisers that directly benefit a charitable organization
Charities using Facebook's payment platform to process donations pay no fee – 100 per cent of the donations go to the charity.
One important distinction between personal and nonprofit fundraisers is that you can’t use personal fundraisers to raise money for a nonprofit. If you want to raise funds that will go directly to a nonprofit, please create a nonprofit fundraiser.
Facebook fundraising and donations tools are only available to charitable organizations based in certain locations.
